We can install and configure the following applications on your Linux server:
Proxy server (Squid)

Mail server (sendmail)
On the Internet, sendmail is the most popular Unix-based implementation of the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) for transmitting e-mail. When a sendmail server receives e-mail, it attempts to deliver the mail to the intended recipient immediately and, if the recipient is not present, it queues messages for later delivery.
back to top Firewall (iptables)
iptables give you flexibility in protecting your services (firewall feature), powerful routing features (network address translation, or NAT), manipulating packets (packet mangling), and most useful is the connection tracking feature. At the packet filtering (firewall) level, you can control which services may be accessed, and how they may be accessed. At the NAT level, you can use the packet filtering feature, process the packets, and send them to a specific host on your network, service on the same box, or simply drop the request at the doorstep. Packet ala deceased.

Fileserver (samba)
Samba is an Open Source/Free Software suite that provides seamless file and print services to Microsoft Windows clients. Samba uses the TCP/IP protocol that is installed on the host server. When correctly configured, it allows that host to interact with a Microsoft Windows client or server as if it is a Windows file and print server.
back to top DHCP server
Stands for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. DHCP provides a means of dynamically configuring the IP addresses, network numbers, and server locations for the computers on your local network. Instead of manually configuring each machine on your network with IP address, netmask, default gateway and dns server settings, the server will do this automatically for each machine.
back to top Apache webserver
Apache has been the most popular web server on the Internet since April of 1996. A webserver allows the hosting of html documents in the form of an intranet or website.
back to top Postgresql database
PostgreSQL is a highly-scalable, SQL compliant, open source object-relational database management system with more than 15 years of development history.
back to top Mysql database
The MySQL database server is the world's most popular open source database. Over six million installations use MySQL to power high-volume Web sites and other critical business systems — including industry-leaders like The Associated Press, Yahoo, NASA, Sabre Holdings and Suzuki.

Allows users to retrieve e-mail from your server using either POP3 or IMAP from any email client.
back to top PHP support
PHP is a widely-used general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for Web development and can be embedded into HTML. It allows your website or intranet to be dynamic and self-updateable.
back to top SSH login
Stands for secure shell. It is a very secure form of remote access allowing system admin to remotely administer the server.
back to top DNS server (BIND)
BIND (Berkeley Internet Name Domain) is an implementation of the Domain Name System (DNS) protocols. The BIND DNS Server is used on the vast majority of name serving machines on the Internet. It resolves DNS names to IP addresses.
back to top Automatic updates (YUM)
Yum is an automatic updater and package installer/remover for rpm systems. It automatically computes dependencies and figures out what things should occur to install packages. In a nutshell, YUM keeps your Linux machine up to date with the latest security patches. YUM can be configured to download updates from a local South African mirror to save on bandwidth.
